Mel Grandjamb, Presidentmel

A member of the Fort McKay First Nation, Mel achieved his designations of Building Construction Engineering Technology and Project Management from NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology). He began his 18-year career working for MW Kellogg as a Field Engineer responsible for supervising the installation of underground piping and caissons on Syncrude’s Capacity Addition project.

As part of his diversified and well-rounded career, Mel has also held the following positions:

    • Project Officer, Fort McKay First Nation
    • Chief, Fort McKay First Nation
    • Project Manager Capital Projects, Frog Lake First Nation
    • Construction Specialist, Syncrude Canada
    • Director Capital Projects Department, Fort McKay First Nation
    • Board of Director, Fort McKay Group of Companies

Mel is extremely passionate about his community and makes it his goal to be actively involved. He is a key contributor to the annual Treaty Days celebration, a Native Provincials Hockey coach for various levels, the Fort McKay First Nation Fire Chief, and he donates resources to functions and events. Mel has led the firefighting team at the province-wide level of the National Aboriginal Firefighters Competition and won the 2012, 2013, and 2014 championships. The team also went on to complete at the national level and won the 2014 National Championship.

Allan Hawkins

With extensive industry experience, including a role with the Fort McKay Group of Companies, Allan actively seeks new opportunities for the group and monitors existing contracts to ensure client satisfaction.

Having spent over 18 years working in the oil sands, he has gained experience in health and safety, business operations, management, and business development.

Allan is able to work with our clients to ensure that Fort McKay Resources is capable of surpassing client expectations while operating within our capacities.

Ryan Pinkneyryan

Ryan and his family have been residents of Fort McMurray since 1975. A graduate of the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Education, majoring in mathematics, Ryan taught math at Fort McMurray Composite High School before transitioning into an entrepreneurial role in financial planning. Ryan owns a variety of successful businesses in the Fort McMurray area.

In his role with Fort McKay Resources, Ryan works as a liaison with legal, financial, and accountant teams. Not only does he ensure financial diligence and accuracy within the organization, he also provides this same direction with joint venture arrangements.
